Before retraining as a counsellor, I spent years in factual television — a career built on curiosity about people and telling their stories. It was a world that was creatively rich but intensely pressured, and it taught me a lot about how people communicate (and don't), how much goes unsaid, and what it takes to create the conditions for someone to open up.

In 2016 I moved into something different: teaching and training in Compassionate Communication — also known as NVC (Nonviolent Communication). I spent the next ten years in that world, working with individuals and organisations on how to express themselves clearly, listen well, and navigate conflict without shutting down. That work changed how I see pretty much everything.

Retraining as a counsellor felt like the natural next step — a way to bring together everything I'd learned about people, communication, and change into more sustained, deeper work. I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching at the University of East London in 2026, graduating with a Distinction. I also trained to Level 2 in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and am a certified Compassionate Communication practitioner with a decade of practice behind me.

I'm BACP registered and work within the Personal Consultancy Model — a framework that combines the reparative depth of counselling with the forward focus of coaching. I find that most people need both: space to understand where they've come from, and support in working out where they're going.

How I am in the room

I'm not a blank screen. I bring warmth, genuine curiosity and a real interest in who you are and what matters to you. I see myself as a fellow traveller — someone who works alongside you, rather than at you.

I'll listen carefully, ask questions, and at times offer gentle challenge. I won't tell you what to do or push you towards conclusions I've already decided on. My style is calm and grounding. I aim to create a space where you can think clearly and breathe — somewhere to explore without judgement, at whatever pace feels right for you.

I work with people from all walks of life. I'm comfortable with complexity, and I don't need things to fit neatly into categories.
